It was 30th of December when, thinking about a dessert to celebrate my first Silvester (New Year’s Eve) with our friends, I thought immediately “Oh I could make a Lemon Pie!” ’cause I love it and being pregnant helps me a lot.
And then I realized that not everybody love that citrus flavor… But, “who does not love berries?!”
So I ended up following the same principles and basic ingredients, just escaping the meringue part and replacing the lemon juice for berries…and “ta da” = Berry Pie!
Do you want to try it at home? here is the recipe 😉
Pie Crust ingredients (dough):
- 1,5 cup of Pastry or All-purpose Flour (in Germany Type 405 or 550)
- 3 spoons of corn or potato starch
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 3 spoons of powdered sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 spoon of butter (room temperature)
- 2 eggs
- 3 to 4 spoons of Water.
Pie Filling ingredients:
- 400 gr of condensed milk
- 250 gr of berries (in this case I used blueberries and raspberries)
- 3 spoons of berry marmalade
- 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat the oven at 200 ºC for 10 minutes while you prepare the crust.
Step 2
In a bowl add: flour, baking powder, starch selected, powdered sugar, salt, eggs and butter (soft or melted). Mix all the ingredients with your hands until is moldeable and it does not stick (add a couple of spoons of flour if i’s needed)

Shape into flattened round and transfer to a pie plate (28 cm. aprox.), creating a side border, pressing firmly against bottom and side. Prick bottom and side with a fork (to prevent puffing). Bake for 15 minutes while you make the filling part.

Step 3
In a bowl add: condensed milk, marmalade and lemon juice. Mix for 1 minute till is creamy (with an electric mixer). Add 125 gr. of berries. Mix everything again for 10 seconds. Leave it in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Take out the crust from the oven and fill it with the berry creamy mixture. Decorate on top with the other 125 gr. of berries. Bake for 10 minutes.

Step 5
Remove from the mold or baking plate. Keep it in the fridge if you are going to eat it in the next 24/48 hours.
Serve and enjoy the sweetest Berry Pie!
